A comical obsession

I've been reading and enjoying a hella lot of webcomics lately. (There are some new additions over there on the right...check 'em out.) I've been kicking around making a comic of my own, but all these other guys do it so well, I just don't think I can do it. Ehh, we'll see. For now, here's t-shirts that I am enjoying:

Rugged and Knitted

For those men, who may or may not be named Nic, who really REALLY want a beard like their lumberjack-emulating friends but just can't even manage getting stubble, here's the Beard Cap made by the Icelandic design group, Vik Prjonsdottir. It draws the ladies like only a roll of Brawny paper towels can while keeping you warm and toasty.

PG Topless Action!

I would be referring to the recent Improv Everywhere mission called No Shirts. They gathered 111 men together with the aim of going into Abercrombie & Fitch and every single one of them removing their shirts at the same time. This would be all in response to the fact that Abercrombie's ads all feature half-naked men and even hire them to stand around in their stores. Such a funny stunt. Link

Krista says that I need to go crazy...

Here's some crazy/expensive shoes that I could buy...

Cesare Paciotti 938010 $484.95

Belle by Sigerson Morrison $308.95

DAVIS by Ruthie Davis $283.00

1582 by Casadei $295.00

C10082 Lsxo 00 by Moschino $398.95

Debutante by Irregular Choice $129.56

Gypsey Girl by Irregular Choice $120.56

...if I didn't feel so bad about spending the cash on shoes that I would wear maybe once.

My kind of workout shoes

These are shoes that aren't just nice to look at and a bit on the sporty side, but they actually tone your legs and bum while you just walk around in them.

Sport Low by MBT $248.95
These would be the priciest ones out there. Supposedly they make you feel as though you are walking on sand all day. Notice that the soles are rounded, which I would think would burn a lot of fat just standing still and trying not to fall over.

Allure by Earth $112.95

The conscruction of these shoes is based on the toe being higher than the heel. Supposedly it gives you perfect posture and all day it's like you are walking up a hill. I definitely think that would tone, but I think I'd get pretty dern tired walking uphill all day.

Fit Flops (for sale at Running Bare) Currently selling for 36 pounds in the UK (approx. $72)
All the rage in the UK right now, these are supposed to be very similar to MBT's, in that they feel like walking on sand all day. Bath and Body Works are supposedly carrying these, so I definitely want to try them out and see if I feel anything toning.

I will be recieving a $100 gift certificate to Zappos.com. I would like to get a pair of shoes that I normally wouldn't buy all otherwise, but I also know that I am poor and should probably get shoes that I will definitely wear. Here are my top picks so far:

Sloop by French Sole $98.95
They look supremely comfortable, but $100 for a pair of ballet flats? Even if it isn't my money is still just a bit to swallow.

Step Up by Dr. Scholl's $72.95
I tried these on and was pretty amazed at how springy the soles were. They've got a pretty classic cut to them, but do I really need another pair of black dress shoes? Probably not.

If there's ever been a ring I need, it's this one

Presenting the Coffee & Cigarettes ring by D*licious via Shanalogic.com. Unfortunately they are sold out.

Edit: They got more in! Someone, quick! I wear a size 7! Link

Fashion that fits my budget

Sarah Jessica Parker's line of clothing for Steve & Barry's will be coming out soon and I've gotta say, I'm pretty excited. SJP's view on this line is that "Fashion is not a luxury, it's a right," and so in the spirit of that, nothing in her line will be above $20. This makes me very very happy.

It's like having a sponsor...except getting no bank for it.

Today's t-shirt posts were brought to you via Uncrate.com. They have lots of manly stuff like cufflinks and stainless steel and concrete rings. And they have a feature on this tee:

From what's becoming my new favorite online store...

Urban Outfitters, the Paul Frank Volume Knob tee.

Since it seems to be a day for t-shirts...

Here's a bunch that also I love from Threadless.com (click each pic to go to the site):

The dude abides

Straight from the Lebowski fest (to be held in Louisville, KY from July 20th to the 21st), I bring you the 'Abide' shirt. So simple, yet so fantastic. Link

Dr. Scholl's Step Up Heels

The most comfortable heels I have ever tried on. The actual heel on them is a little odd, but they just fit like a dream. I'm thinking that the shoes I bought a while back might go back to the store and these will be in my permanent collection (the other pair that I bought just aren't comfortable in the least). Link

Blue Blood Women's Jacket

I love funnel neck coats. It's like having a coat and a scarf all in one. I think it goes along with my love of combination items (i.e. lipgloss that's also a breath freshener, a PDA phone, etc.) Also in the vein of combos, thegiantpeach.com is a combo store: music and clothing.

The Criss Cross Cat Shoe by Sugar

Too cute from Karmaloop.com. This is a store that sells all sorts of clothes and handbags. I think it's supposed to be more for skaters and such, but I like it anyway. If I have learned anything about skaters is that being cute and comfort is not an out of reach goal. Link

Linen Jetball Hat with contrast stitching

This hat from Urban Outfitters is just too cute. I love to wear hats but it's kind of hard to find casual hats that work well with short hair. Link

Naked shoes for naked people

Dopies, called the ultimate shoe by its creators, can barely be considered shoes at all. The strap can be taken out and all you're left with is the folded toe design that keeps your foot on the sandal. I really wonder how comfortable these are (although for $40, I'll probably keep wondering for a while.) Link

The Great Bathing Suit Search

Unfortunately, I have been blessed with a rather large backend. This proves annoying when attempting to find a swimsuit that fits and fits well. I can go with a two piece, but I'm always just entirely too self-conscious while wearing it. Many years ago, I was in posession of a black, one-piece swimsuit which had boyshort bottoms, a low back and fit me just perfectly. Sadly, this bathing suit disappeared while I was moving to college. I have been searching for this swimsuit for years but to no avail...until today!

I present the Damsel Polka Dot One Piece swimsuit from Urban Outfitters. I love the halter ties and the cut of the backend. They also have the same cut in solid colors as well. I love that the 40's/50's are coming back! Link

This one is from pinupgirlclothing.com. It's at a lower price point which is always a bonus and it has that cute kind of non-skirt skirt. Link

This one is Retrodress. They have a selection of Esther Williams-inspired bathing suits. I love the rouching at the sides. Link

Etsy Seller: whosesarinow

This Etsy seller just makes some beautiful clothes. Most items are made from silk scarves with intricate, but not too busy, patterns.
