Where have all the arcades gone?

Remember going to the mall and mom dropping you off at the arcade with an assload of quarters and coming back to get you when she's done shopping? Yeah, where the hell did arcades go to? They're a veritable gold mine when you consider they don't cost much to keep up and people just pump money into them. So in honor/memory of the run-of-the-mill arcade, here are some arcades that actually still do exist:

From Gizmodo, this was created by a fella named Peter who has all of this amazingness in his backyard. If you score an invite to his Luna City Arcade...there are no quarters required and no entrance fee! The Giz has a buttload of pictures to drool over. Anyone want to make a pilgrimage with me? (It's in Dulles, VA...which is seriously close enough to seriously consider it!)

One of my favorite places in Walt Disney World is called DisneyQuest. It is three floors of arcade goodness. They have all kinds of gaming: virtual reality, old school 8-bit (as in Pac-Man and Dig Dug), DDR, etc. This is also a place that is quarterless but has an entrance fee of around $30. Still, if you're at WDW and it's raining and you can only hear that damn "Small World" song so many times, it's a great place to spend the afternoon.

So apparently at Crab Towne in Glen Burnie, they have a pretty hefty selection of arcade games. Found on the large Classic Gaming Locations list, they seem to be fully operational and nice and crappy just like the arcades of old. Link

In New Hampshire, they have Funspot and The American Classic Arcade Museum. With a HUGE selection of games, I bet their claim of being the largest arcade in the world is really true.
